For Cheryl and Charlie

Labels: ,

And because Lisa asked when I would post again...

I will go for post number 3. In one MONTH. Not too bad even if I have nothing to say.

A couple of weeks ago Paula, Xander and I went to our old hometown of Georgetown to visit Paula's mom, Susan. Around two o'clock, it seemed like Xander really needed a nap, so I started driving him around my old neighborhood. I always like to go back and see what my old house is looking like because it is still an awesome house. We built it in 1984. When I say we, I mean my grandfather, uncle, stepdad, mom and even I helped nail some of the top floor in. Anyway I LOVED this house and still am sad my mother sold it in 1992. It was on a half an acre, two stories, four bedrooms all marble tubs and fixtures, balconies on the top floor in the front and back, all wooden windows, french doors, two fireplaces and my favorite thing of all - a central vacuum system where you don't have to lug a vacuum up and down the stairs, but just plug the hose into outlets in the wall and it sucks it into a canister in the garage. Not that I like to vacuum, but when you had a handful of crap, you could just open the outlet and let it suck it up too. Very fun. Anyway...I showed Xander the old house and where my friends had grown up as well. We drove by Becky's old house, Katie's (where her father still lives), Todd Kemper's who broke up with me after a week when I was 14 (jerk), and Cassandra's house (where her parents still live too). We also drove by the guy I crushed on for a couple of years - Tim Locke's house. Then I think I bored Xander to death by doing all this because he fell into a peaceful slumber.

Just my luck

I went to Chase on Wednesday to deposit a $49.99 rebate check because YES we were THAT broke... and the little tube got caught in the vacuum thingy. See the picture of the Chase people beating my deposit back down. It was kind of embarrassing.

Obsessions with everything celebrity and a new appreciation (sort of?) for John Mayer

Don't get me wrong...I am not going out to buy an album or ever listen to the "Daughters" or "Your body is a wonderland" song without completely retching...but... he might have an attractive sense of humor. Here is an excerpt from his blog regarding the Isaiah Washington and "Grey's Anatomy" controversy. And, yes of course I watch the show.
