It seems that most Mother's Days seem to be spent relaxing from all the things that we normally do. I love that! This year I got to spend Mother's Day being, well... a mother. After our moms left Saturday night, we noticed Xander had a raging fever. The fever carried into Sunday (Mother's Day) and Xander and I headed toward the Dr's office. He seemed a little down, but ok at the Dr. We made a couple of stops on the way home, but once we got home, his fever seemed to spike in a very scary way. Xander has been sick before, but this time he was registering 104.1 degrees under the armpit. I was so scared I called P. and told her she needed to come home because she was better at this. In the meantime, I soaked some (clean) dishtowels with cold water and placed them all over his body. He has never been this sick and I was really scared at what was going on (yes, I am a wimp).
Thankfully, his fever went down a couple of degrees with the rags and broke sometime around 2 am Monday morning. I guess that is what being a mother is all about. Thank god he is feeling better.
