Update III

We had a very busy 4th of July. The day started with us walking through the field to the neighboring neighborhood (does that sound right?). The residents of Oak Acres had the annual 4th of July parade. This is the second year we have joined them. The parade consists of the neighborhood folks marching around the circle. Everyone dresses up in red, white and blue. Xander rode his bike around the circle nearly falling many times into the drainage ditches (look forward when your ride!).

Lucy followed us and was brought home on a leash (much to Xander's delight and Lucy's chagrin).

After the parade, Xander and I headed over to my mom's house for lunch (hot dogs of course) and swimming in her pool.

Then we went back to Oak Acres for the neighborhood slip n slide party and 4th of July barbecue. Last year, they had the same type of slide at Hazel's birthday party and Xander was fairly tentative about going on it. Not this year. This year he was a daredevil!

We didn't see any fireworks this year (thank god, way too dry out here) and X Man was asleep before it even got dark.

Update II

We actually spent most of Easter in the Kansas City area visiting my grandmother. Xander, his grandma (my mom) and I flew up for the weekend. It was Xander's first airplane ride! He did great during the flight there and back. The weekend before Easter, we took Xander to the YMCA Easter egg hunt. They also had a petting zoo. Xander enjoyed chasing the chickens around and finally caught one.

Finally...an update Part I

So it has been a long time since I last posted anything. I am going to keep it brief (wordwise) and instead give you a pictorial update. First up is Christmas. The first pic is Xander decorating the tree. Yes, we were raking leaves in December...that's what happens when you live in Texas. And finally, Xander opening presents on Christmas Day.
